Girl Puppet

For my final year at University I made two short films - one for each semester. As I had to work completley independently, taking on every role in the creation of my shorts I decided to make a single puppet that could be used across both projects with slight adjustments being made to provide some separation.

I used a wide variety of different making and fabricating techniques to make my girl puppet. I knew I wanted to be able to remove my characters face to allow for animatable eyes and facial features. I also made two separate wigs for my character that needed to be able to be slotted on top of the head and replaced between projects. Because of these requirements the making process required a lot of problem solving and trial and error but the final outcome turned out really well.
